Why Fosterpreneur?
Fosterpreneur offers foster care youth and alumni great opportunities to work and make entrepreneurial/ career dreams a reality. We offer an 8-week virtual business training including topics such as mindset development, decision making in business, target customer, business operations, and finances .
Fosterpreneur provides: Individualized social emotional support and case management, group entrepreneurial coaching sessions along with one-on-one business coaching sessions, continued entrepreneurial support and coaching, life- long connection to an alumni network of support
Who Can Apply?
You can apply to become a Fosterpreneur if you are between 18-30 years old. We give special consideration to youth who: a)Have been involved in the foster care system b) Have experienced homelessness or temporary housing c) Have a juvenile or criminal justice history
Through their work at our social enterprise youth learn about sales, money handling, customer service, critical thinking, problem solving, business operations, punctuality, attendance, accountability, teamwork, and communication. They also complete online training modules in sales of product, teamwork, retail basics, and retail tools and technology. Our curriculum includes trauma informed practices to ensure that our students have access the appropriate resources.
